Request For Proposal Template For Rating Systems Made Freely Available

Ann Arbor, MI, 8 December 2000 - A Request For Proposal (RFP) Template for Rating Systems was published for public use by Service Level Corporation. It covers all the features of a convergent telecommunications rating system. This document includes more than seven hundred questions on more than forty pages. You can get it in both HTML document format and in Microsoft Word document form. The template is provided for use without copyright restrictions. It is found on the Service Level Corporation web site (http://www.servicelevel.net/ ).

Any organization evaluating an existing rating system or considering the purchase of a rating system will find this valuable. It is a tool to shorten the development time for RFP documents throughout the world.

Mr. Jim O'Neill, Contributor of Billing Q&A in Billing World magazine, reviewed the document before this announcement. He commented, "This document, freely posted to the public domain by Service Level Corporation, can be a valuable tool to both new entrants or companies seeking a new billing solution for their business.  It is a step in the direction of standardizing Request for Proposals that can make it easier for anyone to compare commercially available billing systems".

Mr. Rick Henry, a UK-based industry consultant who has been involved in more than a dozen RFP projects, applauded the Template's availability. He said, "This document can save carriers many thousands of dollars of consulting expenses and days of work spent on the preparation of billing system RFP documents. This is a useful timesaver for the industry."

The RFP Template was created from questions received in RFP documents over more than ten years and from service providers from all over the world.

The Rating RFP Template represents an entry in the growing library of reports available in the Rating Matters archive at http://www.servicelevel.net/. Issues of the free Rating Matters newsletter are also stored on the web site.
